If you have service types you've used in the past but no longer plan to use, you can archive them! It's typically better to archive a service type in case you need it again in the future.
Administrators can restore archived service types from the Plans page at any time. Deleted service types can only be recovered within 30 days.

Select Plans from the top navigation.

Select the ⚙️ gear icon next to the service type you want to archive.

Choose Settings from the menu options.

Select Actions from the top right.

Choose Archive from the dropdown options.

Select Yes, archive from the popup to finalize the process.
When you archive a service type, all teams in that service type are also archived and will no longer show anywhere within Planning Center. Even if you specifically filter for archived teams, you will not see them if they are in an archived service type.
If an archived service type needs to be available again, you can restore it from the Plans page.

Select Plans from the top navigation.

If you have multiple folders, select the folder where the service type used to be.

Select view archived service types at the bottom of the service type list.

Review the list of archived service types. You'll see the archived date and the person who archived each service type.

Select the restore button to the right of the service type you want to restore.

Select Yes, restore! to restore this service type to the Plans page.
Restoring an archived service type also restores any teams that were active when you archived the service type
Warning
Service types can only be restored within 30 days of deletion. After 30 days, the service type will be permanently deleted along with its plans and teams.
If you're sure you no longer need a service type, follow the steps below to delete it.

Select Plans from the top navigation.

Select the ⚙️ gear icon next to the service type you want to archive.

Choose Settings from the menu options.

Select Actions from the top right.

Choose Delete from the dropdown options.

Select Yes, delete forever from the popup to finalize the process.
This service type will be moved to the recently deleted section of the Plans page and can be recovered within 30 days by an administrator.
If a service type is mistakenly deleted, an administrator can recover it from its original folder within 30 days.

Select Plans from the top navigation.

If you have multiple folders, select the folder where the service type used to be.

Select view recently deleted service types at the bottom of the service type list. If this option is unavailable, the service type you're looking for was deleted more than 30 days ago and cannot be recovered.

Select the restore button to the right of the service type you want to restore.

Select Yes, restore! to restore this service type to the Plans page.
