The auto-scheduler automatically fills in needed positions based on when people were last scheduled and their preferences. It can be used in the matrix to schedule many people at once. You can also auto-schedule when people decline from the Team Settings.
Auto-scheduling follows this order when prioritizing people to schedule:
-
Last Scheduled Date (which could be in the future)
Note
Schedulers can only auto-schedule teams where they are listed as a team leader.
Open the custom matrix with the plans you want to schedule people to, and then add any additional needed positions that you want to schedule.
Hover over the top of the Matrix and select the down arrow at the plan. Choose Needed Positions from the dropdown to make any adjustments.
Tip
Check the Team Settings to make sure that the last scheduled date is coming from the right place.
Select the Auto-Schedule button to confirm the teams you're scheduling.
Teams from the matrix that you are a leader for will be shown.
-
If you are a scheduler, the teams you can auto-schedule are listed. To exclude a team from auto-scheduling, click the X next to it.
-
If you have higher permissions than scheduler, you can select Add to add other teams to the auto-schedule.
Select Submit to start the auto-scheduler.
Warning
The auto-scheduler won't fill a position if everyone has a scheduling preference, conflict, or blockout date.
If the auto-scheduler didn't give you the results you needed, you can undo the assignments before you leave the page.
Warning
Once you navigate away from your matrix, undo will be unavailable.
To undo the auto-scheduling:
-
Select the Auto-Schedule button.
-
In the Auto-schedule modal, select Undo Auto-schedule.
All the people you just scheduled will be undone, and then you can make any changes before re-running the auto-scheduler.
