Setting Your Scheduling Preferences

This lesson shows you how to set scheduling preferences on your profile page. These preferences will be seen by your scheduler when they try to schedule you more than you have indicated you would like.

There are General Preferences (which include household preferences), and Team Preferences.

Go to your Profile

  1. Click your name in the upper right
  2. Click 'Profile'

Make sure you are on the 'Scheduling' tab, and click the 'Edit' button in the Preferences section.

  1. Indicate the maximum amount of times (times = plans) you prefer to be scheduled over the course of a month, as well as how many times per day.
  2. Next are Household preferences. If your family members are listed, set whether you'd like to serve when they are already scheduled, or prefer not to be scheduled at the same time (someone needs to watch the kids!)
  3. Some churches allow everyone to set up their own Households, but some don't. If you see the 'Edit Households' button, then your church does allow you to add your family members to your Household (if they're already in the system.) Otherwise, you'll need to ask your Scheduler to set up your Household before you can set preferences.

Your changes save as you make them. When you are done, you can click the Done button to return to the simplified view.

Team Preferences

Click the preferences section for any team you are assigned to reveal its preferences. The Teams section is on the 'Scheduling' tab under the 'Preferences' section.

Choose how often you'd like to serve on that specific team and click the checkmark to save your setting. If your leader tries to schedule you more often than you prefer, they will receive a warning.

Some Teams (Split Teams) might allow you to specify which service times you prefer to serve at here as well. If so, there will be a second box of options listing the available service times for the team.

For Choose Weeks, the 1st Week is the 1st through the 7th day of the month, even if that’s Wednesday thru Tuesday. The 2nd week is days 8 through 14, and so on.

Weekends or other days are not grouped. If your preference is not to serve on the 1st week, and ANY service time in that plan is the 1st through 7th, a conflict will show.

So if a plan is on Saturday is the 7th (week 1) and Sunday is the 8th (Week 2), a person with a preference to only serve the 1st week will see a conflict, plus a person with a preference to only serve the 2nd week will ALSO see a conflict.
