My Teams is a special filter to help schedulers more quickly get to Teams they are responsible for in some way. This is especially helpful if your church uses Planning Center Services to schedule teams in many ministries, as it gives a way to easily hide Teams you are not responsible for.
Which Teams are My Teams?
Any Team listed on your profile page in the Teams section will show in My Teams. In order for a Team to be in My Teams, you must be assigned to that Team either as a Team Leader or as a Team Member.
Every Team can have one or many leaders. Each leader can have their own preference to get emails when team members accept, decline or blockout dates. They can also choose to not receive any team emails at all and be added as a Team Leader just because they're responsible for that Team in other ways and want it to be part of My Teams.
To be added as a Team Leader, go into any plan that contains that Team, and click the gear to edit Teams. Hover over that specific team and click the pencil to edit it. Then add any leaders from the Team Leaders tab.
For detailed information and screenshots, see this lesson.
To make someone a member of a Team, you assign them to a Position within that Team. You can do this when editing a Team from within a plan, or by going to the person's profile.
After clicking Add, type the name of the position to assign them.
If your Team is set up to assign people using Tags, you'll need to switch to the Details tab on their profile, and assign them to the correct tags. Tag Teams are not recommended unless you need to share one set of people to multiple teams. If you have a Tag Team because that's just the way it's always been, you can switch your Team to a regular team very easily. More information is available in this lesson.
In order for a Team to be in My Teams, you must be officially assigned as a leader or member as described above. However, if you're looking at My Teams from within a plan (from our mobile apps), we will also show any Teams you are just scheduled to. This means if you're not actually assigned to a team, but you are scheduled as a guest, for that plan you'll see the Team in My Teams.
Where is My Teams?
My Teams is currently available from the following places:
In Services version 3 and above for Android and iOS, when you go to the Teams tab within a plan, there are tabs at the top to show you All Teams scheduled to that plan, or just My Teams.
The main People tab has gotten a huge makeover. It will be rolled out to one permission level at a time, starting with Administrators and working down. If you don't see a banner at the top of the current People page to try the new page, it hasn't been enabled for your permission level yet.
You can quickly filter the people page to see anyone belonging to Teams selected in My Teams. There are buttons to quickly switch between teams you lead, or teams you are on.
